This website was created to help my students and their parents stay
informed about what is going on in my Social Sciences classes.

Due dates, assignments, notes and other relevant information
will be posted here to help students keep track of their courses.

About Mrs. Gorman

Proudly born and raised in the Niagara Region, I developed an interest in preparing foods during my childhood. That expanded into an interest of all things Family Studies related.  I completed my bachelor's degree in History and Sociology, and have done MA research in Teens and Disordered Eating.

Courses offered in the Social Sciences help students develop more than academic skills. They learn theories and perspectives they can apply to social issues as they transition into adulthood. Parenting class (HPC3O) teaches students how to interact with children and the basics of infant/child care.  Individual and Families in a Diverse Society (HHS4M) is a university level course that opens up a discussion of how people function and make their way in our society as a whole. World Religions (HRF3O) is a survey course that examines various religions throughout the world. Students are given the opportunity to explore current and ancient religions while examining their own belief systems.
