Bonne Année! Happy New Year 2012!
We live in interesting times, do we not? How fortunate we are to have living history in our own backyard. Our school will be going to Fort George to see our area through the eyes of the local military presence of 1812. Our class is to do so on Tuesday, February 7th, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
The morning will be devoted to touring the entire fort. After lunch, the students will participate in two 40 minute workshops. We will be back at school in time for dismissal.
Also, our class has started the "famous" verb tests. This is modeled on old-fashioned drill work. Each week, we study 8 new verbs. They will accumulate over the weeks until all 56 verbs are written at one go. Parents, please sign the weekly verb tests! This is my assurance that you are aware of your child's progress.
Upcoming: more opportunities to fundraise for the Québec trip. All monies accumulated will be applied to your final payment.
Our own Carnaval de Québec - celebrated by a variety of whole-department activities, including a poutine lunch.
